Building survey

In order to understand the fuller topographic context of the excavations, a standing building survey of the Palazzo Imperiale is being undertaken (G. Beale, University of Southampton). This involves ground-truthing and up-dating earlier survey work undertaken by the Soprintendenza di Beni Archeologici in the 1980s, as well as surveying standing structures in the large warehouse immediately to the east of the Palazzo and to the south of the excavations (2008).
