PTM Rig
The Polynomial Texture Mapping rig is up and running. Hembo and Maria have been busy going through the backlog of degraded brick stamps from last year. We also have some coins that need to be examined and will be returning to recording some parts of the faunal assemblage. As part of our assessment of brick stamps within the fabric of the Imperial Palace Hembo is also using the Highlight Based PTM approach. You can see one of the new Portus PTM's online.
Out on site work is continuing apace. We have begun to clear the other half of Area B adjacent to the cisterns. We have finished the digital photogrammetry for planning the wall tops in Area E on the other side of the road. Geoff is busy in the area to the east of the amphitheatre and Roberta's area is already showing up a lot more detail in the area of the southern warehouses. Penny has now trained up another batch of willing students in ARK and the finds keep coming. We keep being reminded that this really is an extraordinary site!
