Renaissance and Modern Eras (Periods 7 and 8)

The central isthmus of the port was abandoned down to the modern era, although our excavations have detected limited squatter activity within the eastern wing of the Palazzo Imperiale during the 15^th c, and have documented ephemeral activity across the site as a whole during the later 19^th c.
